Photographing weddings is hard. The moments happen fast and there are no do-overs. You have to be on your game all the time and have to be able to deliver under pressure and in every lighting condition. You have to be able to deliver when you have little control over what's happening. It's a challenge that I LOVE and look forward to before each and every wedding I get to shoot.
I am tempted to go on a rant about hiring a seasoned professional wedding photographer instead of a beginner or family friend but I will hold my tongue. :-)
I think wedding photography is important. Weddings are historical events and it's important to document them well. It's not just about the bride and groom but the people who are there with them. Weddings are a snapshot (no pun intended) in the history of your family. A day that will be referenced and talked about for years to come. There is so much action happening throughout the day and there is no way the bride and groom can see and witness everything that happens. I love that I get to wrap up the entire wedding day and give it back to my clients.
I get a front row seat to one of the best days of your lives. I get to be there right before a groom sees his bride for the first time. I get to be mere feet away from a father and daughter right before they walk down the aisle. I will forever be grateful to my clients for trusting me and letting me be a part of their wedding day. What a great job!
